Description
Parex Fine Bedding Concrete (FBC) is a permeable Portland cement-based powder mix which is polymer reinforced. The mix design includes special powerful plasticising agents which produce a workable mortar suitable for bedding paving units. The low water requirement enables the placed mortar to rapidly develop the compressive strength required to support the placed paving elements.
Supplied ready mixed either in: silos, bulk bags or 25kg bags, Parex Fine Bedding Concrete is an integral member of the Parex range of Streetscape Mortars, and is designed specifically to conform to BS 7533-7:2010. It should be used in conjunction with: Parex Granatech or Parex SettPoint, to provide a fully compliant bedding and jointing system for hard landscaping products.
The pre-blended product is ready for on site mixing and only requires the measured addition of water.
The resulting mixes have good freeze-thaw stability and are resistant to oil and many chemical environments. Placement thickness may be in the nominal range 40mm to 75mm in a single layer.

Note: The bond strength attained is a function of the mortar used and the porosity/surface texture of the paving unit. When bedding paving units, the inclusion of a priming/bond coat of Parex Bond Plus Mortar is essential for vehicular trafficked areas.
Specification Outline
Bedding of paving units shall be carried out using Parex Fine Bedding Concrete. The product must be stored, handled and used strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Parex has an integrated management system. This is externally accredited to: BS EN ISO 9001, BS EN ISO 14001 and BS ISO 45001.
Colour variation between deliveries may occur due to the variation in the raw materials used. The physical characteristics and consistency remain unaffected.
Standards
Parex Fine Bedding Concrete has been tested in accordance with the relevant Parts of the following standards: BS 7533-7:2010, BS 1881 and BS EN 12697-19.
