What is Sikagard Wood Preserver?
Sikagard Wood Preserver is a low-odour solution that prevents wood rot and decay.
What can I use Sikagard Wood Preserver for?
Sikagard Wood Preserver can be used on interior or exterior rough-sawn or planed timber such as:
- Floorboards
- Joists
- Roof timbers
- Window frames and doors
How much Sikagard Wood Preserver do I need?
For preventative effect against insects and wood rotting fungi apply 250 ml per square metre.
Joinery, floorboards, roof joists etc: Apply 1 litre of product per 3 – 4 mยฒ of surface. Ideally this should be applied as 2 – 3 even coats, leaving at least 2 hours, or until previous coat is dry, between applications.
Timber not in ground contact: Apply 2 even coats by brush or spray application. Coverage: 3 – 4 m2ย per litre.
How do I apply Sikagard Wood Preserver?
Shake well before use. Apply by brush, spray or dipping. Apply a minimum of two coats if brushing or spraying. The second coat should be applied after the first coat has dried. Pay particular attention to thoroughly soaking of the end grain. Where possible, and for maximum protection, dip the end grains of the timber for a minimum of 3 minutes.
